This Privacy Policy explains how TapLineup (“TapLineup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the TapLineup mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. We collect your email address, account name, account identifier, and, when provided by a sign-in provider, profile image. If you use email-and-password sign-in, the authentication service stores a securely hashed credential; TapLineup cannot read your password. Apple or Google may provide information you authorize when you use their sign-in service.
- Team and lineup information. We store information you enter, including team names, sport, player names, jersey numbers, eligible positions, defensive ratings, game details, batting orders, inning assignments, and lineup preferences.
- Sharing information. When a coach invites or shares with a viewer, we process the viewer’s email address, invitation status, approved lineup snapshots, and delivery information needed to provide that feature.
- Device and nearby-sharing information. We process an app-generated device identifier, device label, app version, pairing status, and trusted-device credentials. Nearby Dugout uses local-network and Bluetooth capabilities to discover and communicate with a privately paired device.
- Subscription information. Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive product, transaction, and entitlement information needed to confirm subscription access. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
- Technical information. Our servers may receive standard request data such as IP address, request time, response status, and basic error or performance information. We use this information to secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Services.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, synchronize, and restore teams, players, games, and lineups.
- Authenticate users, protect accounts, and manage active devices.
- Deliver invitations and approved lineup updates to viewers.
- Pair and reconnect approved Nearby Dugout devices.
- Process purchases, confirm entitlements, and restore subscriptions.
- Prevent abuse, diagnose problems, improve reliability, and respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
3. How We Disclose Information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party targeted advertising. We disclose information only as needed to operate TapLineup:
- With people you choose. Coaches can share team and lineup information with invited viewers or privately paired nearby devices. A coach controls when an approved game update is sent.
- With service providers. Authentication, cloud hosting, infrastructure, and app-store providers process information to help us operate the Services.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or respond to a valid legal request.
- Business transfers. If TapLineup is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
4. Nearby Dugout
Nearby Dugout is designed for private device-to-device sharing. A coach must approve a pairing before team information is sent. Pairing codes expire, while approved-device credentials may remain on each device so the team can reconnect later. Nearby communications occur over local-network and Bluetooth capabilities. TapLineup does not use Nearby Dugout information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and team information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. You can delete teams, players, and games in the App. You can permanently request deletion of your TapLineup account and associated data from Account settings or through our account deletion page. We may retain limited information when required for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or transaction records.
6. Children’s Privacy
TapLineup is intended for coaches, parents, and adult team organizers. It is not directed to children under 13, and children may not create their own TapLineup accounts. Coaches or other adult users may enter limited roster information about youth players. The adult user is responsible for having appropriate authority to provide and share that information and should not enter information TapLineup does not require.
7. Your Privacy Choices
- Review, correct, or delete team, player, and game information in the App.
- Remove viewer access or a trusted Nearby Dugout device through the relevant team controls.
- Delete your account in Account settings or request privacy assistance at support@taplineup.com.
- Manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple or Google account settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your account credentials and contact us if you believe your account or a paired device has been compromised.
9. International Processing
TapLineup and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as TapLineup changes. We will post the revised version and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
